One of the largest independent managing general underwriters (MGUs) in the UK mid-market commercial insurance sector seeking an experienced Development Underwriter.  High calibre board and senior leadership team bring together demonstrable experience and expertise from across the insurance industry.

About Role

Seeking a Development Underwriter based in the M62 corridor (covering Leeds/Manchester).  Responsible for building strong regional broker relationships to increase new business.  Visiting brokers and holding underwriting surgeries to raise brand awareness and build contacts.  Review and underwrite new business quotations within appetite and work with Business Development Managers to maintain broker relationships.

About You

Essential: Underwriting experience (commercial insurance, property/casualty).  Ideally: Previous experience of an Underwriting role with an MGA/MGU.  Good at influencing and relationship building, with excellent communication skills and team working.  Good organisational skills to ensure that company processes and procedures are followed.  (RDT573)
